The Non-Committal Lover: How to Trap Him Into Making a Marriage Proposal

Getting a man to commit to a relationship entails using some little known tactics. That is the purpose of this article.

Every woman deserves the best of all worlds; in their relationships and other affairs of life. The saying that you can’t have it all is for people of low thinking and has long become a cliché. You can actually have it all. When you happen to find the man of your dreams; your Prince Charming and he appears to be running away from making a marriage commitment, then you have needs for concern and every reason to use the weapons in your arsenal to make him commit.

Commitment is one thing that most men run away from. These days we have more of elderly bachelors compared to those good old days when men were in a hurry to settle down. Men of these modern times prefer to frolic with countless women rather than getting settled and “tied” down in the bonds of holy matrimony.

The ugly thing is that when a woman pushes too much, men see it as a sign of being desperate and run further away.

The question now is how can a woman successfully trap a man into settling down in marriage? How do you make your Prince Charming to make that pronouncement that all women long for: Will You Marry Me, My Angel?

Well, let’s get down to business

How To Trap A Man Into Making A Marriage Commitment

• Be Cunning and at the same time, be yourself

There is nothing wrong with being cunning. Remember Queen Cleopatra? She was cunning and played on Caesar to get what she needed. Copy her. Once you have determined that he is the man for you, you should be cunning enough to please him. What are his eccentricities? What are those things that make him happy and give him joy? Know them and give them to him; in more than enough doses. Men are like big puppies, he will then always come running back to you, wagging his tail.

At the same time be yourself. Everyone in the universe is unique and special. We have identity and differ even if in one little way. So, even if you have to be cunning, be yourself. Copying someone doesn’t mean you have to pretend to be someone else. If you know you have bad traits that scare men away then you have to cut them off. If you stay with a man for a few days, you should be smart enough to decipher what the man wants in a woman. Work on yourself and give him that exact picture, portraying the image that that is the true you. This is the very first step to winning a man’s heart before even considering the other hints below.

• Don’t just intend to be a housewife; have a source of income

There is nothing that pisses some men off than a prospective heavily dependent wife. Considering the economic state of the world, every prospective husband will welcome a woman that would aid in ameliorating financial challenges at home. If you intend winning the heart of that man to make him consider marrying you, then you have to be up and doing.

Be in the position to help the man in sustaining the family. Get a job or have something doing. If you are still a student, then portray the attitude of a hard working and intelligent woman who would work to support in fending for the family. No man wants to end up on the spending side of the family alone; those days are far gone.

• Let him know you are still in demand

Some men refuse to make any commitment because they believe that they are all you have. Don’t let him nourish that idea; it’s not to your advantage. You have to show him that there are others lined up ready to cart you away should he delay more than necessary. Let him know that you are still single because you cherish him and don’t give a damn about other men. This will sure get him on his feet. However, be sure not to overdo it as you might appear desperate and probably lose him altogether.

• Hook him with pregnancy

This is the ultimate card you have to play if he’s the very obstinate type. It’s most time a sure winner and a favorite of many women. Before you play this card, be sure that he is the kind of person you want; make sure he is a responsible man. You should be at least 75% sure that he’s not going to reject you and the baby or demand for an abortion. A responsible man would never do that. A responsible man wouldn’t want you to risk your life having an abortion; especially when he has the financial strength and claims to love you.

Getting pregnant should be your last option. If well played, you are sure on your way to the altar.

In conclusion, remember that everything doesn’t just end with getting married; there is the life after marriage and that is where the real challenge begins. You might have succeeded in getting him to marry you, but you can’t hide who you really are forever?

I leave the answer to you.

Nice tips and advice.

Hummm . . .

The only suggestion I'd offer is that instead of the word "trap", I would've used something else.

Yes, excellent. You have unintentionally aided me. Now I know how to avoid marriage traps from wily females.. muahahahaah. Thank you for the tip...

Okay Sandy...I will change that;perhaps, when I attain staff writer status. Thanks. Looking back now, I think "trap" might have been a little too strong. And Scottie, you are welcome.

Daniel, "trap" has a particular history and negative connotation with American men.

You happen to be right James. From the comments and personal messages, I must have come on a little bit too strong. Will be more careful with my words. Thanks all.

A good word to the wise, my friend, when writing about cultural issues, always first recognize who your readers are. Then, be certain you're exercising linguistic cultural sensitivity--unless it is your aim to create controversy.

Not sure *most* men are afraid of commitment. Not sure that a relationship based on being trapped would be the best option. However, great advice for the woman who has this situation, if she wants to go through all this for the non-committal partner.

Nice advice, however I call it 'chase him until he catches me' lol. Thanks a lot.

That sound about right, Genevee. Daniel, at 61, catching him with pregnancy is out, at least for me. I do find that older men are not willing to settle for a one woman relationship, it's like they hae discovered being single, again. At any rate I enjoyed the article and everyone's comments....voted up

Thanks Francina. You sure are right. At 61, most women must have garnered up lots of experience to handle any man. I did enjoy your share as it gave me an idea for another article. Thanks for dropping by.

You had me until the get pregnant tip. Terrible advice - please do not bring another child into this world that may be unwanted. Please people think about the child as they are the ones that suffer the most.

It is really important to do your best when proposing for a marriage to make sure that the woman can give her "YES" answer. Thank you for sharing the useful information on this article. Keep it up!
