Ideas for Personalized Jewelry and Gifts

Personalizing jewelry with engravings is a wonderful way to keep memories alive and preserve an heirloom for generations to come. Engravings can be symbols, words, dates, poems, verses or names. It should commemorate an occasion or express a sentiment. Name bracelets, necklaces and charms are also ways to personalize jewelry.

Jewelry and other precious metal gifts can be intrinsically valuable as cast pieces in silver, platinum or gold.  But jewelry and gifts can have added value with a little extra thought as you pick out a special ring, bracelet or necklace for a special loved one.

Rings are especially appropriate for engraving on the inside and out. Rings given as gifts are typically given on special and momentous occasions. If it is a wedding ring, you can have your vows engraved on the ring or your wedding date. Personalize the ring even more with an expression of love from one to another.   If the ring is to mark a birthday or other special occasion, consider using a famous quote or saying that is personal to the receiver. It will always remind him or her of the day and bring inspiration.

For a special baby gift, you may want to get a silver spoon engraved with the baby’s name and date of birth. Pair it up with a silver cup with the family name for an heirloom that can be passed down for generations.

Wedding gifts lend themselves well to personalization. Napkin rings can be engraved with a monogram. A picture frame may be engraved with a wedding date.  Silver goblets have enough room to be engraved with complete vows or other special traditional wedding verses. Lovers love lockets and it is a wonderful gift for a groom to give to his bride. Consider a special gold locket with his and her initials.

Name necklaces are a perfect personalized piece of jewelry. Consider a name necklace with the birthstone of the person that is receiving it for added value and a splash of color.  Dog tag necklaces are another popular personalized jewelry gift and may be enjoyed by men and women both. Dog tags give plenty of room for longer texts, verses and symbols and can be hung on a more robust chain for a masculine look.

Graduation is the perfect time to give the gift of jewelry or other precious metal gifts. For the business school graduate, cufflinks, key chain or a money clip engraved with a monogram is a very classy gift.  A larger item like a stationary desk set can be engraved with quotes and inspirational messages.

Whatever the occasion, a personalized gift is always appreciated. It will be a reminder of a special time or event in a person’s life.
